Zebras Unite Survey
What is the definition of a Zebra company? What are their financial and structural needs? Which companies are most likely to be successful? How should Zebra companies be measured? What outcomes are related to Zebra company success? Do we have answers! With support from the Omidyar Network and research conducted by Sam Mehoke, we discovered and defined the Dazzle. We strongly encourage you to download the full survey for a vibrant picture of the future economy.
Exit to Community
When a startup takes investment, typically the expectation is that everyone is working toward one of two “exits”: selling the company to a bigger company or selling to investors in an initial public offering. What if there were a third option, an “exit to community,” in which a startup transitions to ownership by the people who rely on it most? For the last year, with support from the Kauffman Foundation, we’ve been exploring how that might happen in collaboration with Nathan Schneider and the Media Enterprise Design Lab.
Alternative Capital Taxonomy
Viewing the world through the lens of venture capital not only limits the types of companies that can access funding to grow, but it also limits the range of opportunities investors can access for returns. Join our ongoing conversation to create a new common language for capital
DazzleCon
Change for the common good often comes from the ground up. In 2017, we convened a gathering of Zebras (a group of Zebras is called a Dazzle!) at our inaugural convening, DazzleCon. Read the recap and watch a video capturing the historic gathering.
